A long long time ago... well in the mid 1990's to be specific there was no internet as we now know it and email and websites were new words. Up to this point we had been working in publishing, advertising and marketing in central Manchester, working on business to business accounts and titles, this experience lasting over 10 years gave us a tremendous knowledge and insight of B2B marketing, public relations and advertising.

It was as part of writing an article to be published in a regional business title called 'Industry Northwest' on 'the internet and it use for business' that we first encountered the World Wide Web. Its impact was a life changer and a subsequent move to work in one of Manchester first web design agencies lead to handling web development for a long list of major clients including; Lex Vehicle Leasing, ERF Trucks, Foden Trucks, Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Staedtler to name but a few.

During the initial internet boom we were involved with numerous start up incubators in London, Birmingham and Manchester, and worked closely with Telia AB in setting up the first un-metered isp in the country - 24-7freecall, yes there was a time when broadband wasn't around and yes you did have to pay for your internet access the same way as you pay for a pay as you go phone.

Widestripes was formed in 2008 with two things in mind, helping small business in the Manchester areas achieve success on the internet and making a living. We have more experience than most people in our industry at many levels and many Manchester and northwest based companies have benefitted from our help.
